Jubilee Conference of the Magna Charta Universitatum 2020 in London
Representatives of Pomeranian University in Słupsk – the Rector of Pomeranian University in Słupsk, professor Zbigniew Osadowski, and the Vice-Rector for Development and Cooperation, professor Marek Łukasik – are taking part in the international conference “Anniversary of the Magna Charta Universitatum MCU2020”, which is being held on 11–13 November 2025 in London, at King’s College London.
This prestigious event, organized by the Magna Charta Observatory, gathers more than 230 delegates from around the world, representing universities, academic organizations, and institutions supporting higher education. The aim of the event is to reflect on the values that form the foundation of the university community, as well as to foster dialogue on academic freedom, social responsibility, and international cooperation in education.
The proceedings include, among others, panels devoted to the responsibility of universities for shaping the modern world, academic freedom, student engagement, and cooperation between universities and their social and economic environment. The event is an excellent opportunity to strengthen relations with international partners, including universities that are signatories of the Magna Charta Universitatum 2020, as well as to establish new contacts promoting academic exchange, joint research, and the development of educational projects.
The participation of Pomeranian University in Słupsk in the Magna Charta Universitatum anniversary is an important element of the University’s internationalization strategy. In 2023, our University was formally admitted to the community of over a thousand institutions upholding the principles of MCU2020. The acceptance of our application followed a positive evaluation of our activities by an independent panel of experts.
On Thursday, 13 November 2025, a ceremonial signing of the document will take place in the chapel at King’s College London. The event will be available to watch via YouTube. We warmly invite everyone to join us in celebrating this important occasion.
