
Polish–Ukrainian Joint Rectors’ Day at Warsaw University of Technology
On 24 June 2025, the Polish–Ukrainian Joint Rectors’ Day was held at Warsaw University of Technology. The event was organized as part of the international project “Polish–Ukrainian cooperation of representative institutions of rectors for improving the functioning of universities.”
The event brought together representatives of universities, academic institutions, and the embassies of both countries — including the Rector of Pomeranian University in Słupsk, professor Zbigniew Osadowski.
The event opened with an official welcome of the Ukrainian delegation and an opening session attended by:
- Professor Krzysztof Zaremba, Rector of Warsaw University of Technology – host of the event,
- Professor Jerzy Woźnicki, President of the Polish Rectors Foundation – project leader,
- Vasyl Bodnar, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland,
- Professor Bogumiła Kaniewska, Chair of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland,
- Professor Volodymyr Bugrov, Vice Chair of the Union of Rectors of Ukraine and Rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
The agenda included sessions focused on the systemic conditions of research cooperation and the evaluation of scientific activity. The highlight of the day was the Rectors’ Debate, where participants discussed opportunities to intensify academic collaboration, particularly within the framework of EU programs and bilateral projects.
This event marked another step forward in the development of international academic partnerships, creating opportunities for new contacts and deeper cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian universities.
