Students from Kazakhstan Follow the Trail of “The Secrets of Słupsk Tenement Houses”
On 12 June 2025, a group of students from Kazakhstan, currently studying at the Institute of History at Pomeranian University in Słupsk, went on a city tour titled “The Secrets of Słupsk Tenement Houses”, led by professor Elżbieta Kal. The event was organized as part of the Active University project.
The walking route started at City Hall and led through Anna Łajming Street, Sienkiewicz Avenue, the streets around the former New Synagogue, then along Wojska Polskiego Street and the First Słupsk Residents’ Square, concluding at the historic tram on Nowobramska Street.
The guide prepared foldable brochures featuring a fragment of an old city map. The brochures also included historical photographs that the students matched with existing buildings. The guests from Kazakhstan also received small university-themed souvenirs.
As they shared afterward, the students thoroughly enjoyed the tour and appreciated the opportunity to explore the city’s history in such an engaging way.
